Trama
Beany, un bambino dal cappellino ad elica, assieme all’enorme ed arguto serpente di mare Cecil, girano per gli oceani in compagnia del bonario Capitan Huffenpuff sopra una goletta sulla cui coffa siede un corvo, vivendo delle surreali avventure tra mostri marini, popolazioni dagli usi bizzarri e curiosi ritrovamenti; in ognuna di esse, saranno sempre ostacolati da Rocco il disonesto (Dishonest John, nella versione originale, che si rifà all’espressione americana Honest John, il prototipo della persona integerrima ed un po’ ingenua), un personaggio baffuto e vestito di nero, tanto perfido quanto maldestro e ridicolo, che tenta in ogni modo di catturare Cecil.
Serie creata da Bob Clampett per conto della Warner e basata sui personaggi di uno spettacolo televisivo di burattini dello stesso Clampett. E' andata in onda per la prima volta in Italia sul Programma Nazionale (oggi Rai 1) con il titolo "Tre allegri naviganti".
Ne è stato realizzato anche un remake, prodotto dalla DIC nel 1988 e composto da appena 8 episodi.
