Due presentatori televisivi, Johnny Gomez e Nick Diamond, conducono lo show televisivo Celebrity Deathmatch (letteralmente "incontro mortale tra celebrità") che rappresenta una parodia del wrestling, in cui personaggi famosi di ogni campo - politica, musica,sport ed altri - combattono sopra un ring fino alla morte dell'avversario, spesso uno contro uno e talvolta anche in gruppi contrapposti. Nonostante la presenza di un arbitro, i contendenti ricorrono impunemente ad ogni genere di scorrettezza, causando ogni volta dei notevoli spargimenti di sangue o delle carneficine esagerate, causando nel pubblico che assiste alla scena macabra una sensazione mista tra euforia e ribrezzo.
