                                                                                                          Trama

Serie animata con protagonista l'attore comico John Candy, che ne è stato anche il produttore; prende spunto da un suo film intitolato Non è stata una vacanza...è stata una guerra!.

In un campeggio estivo da lui stesso gestito, John Candy, spesso assistito dall'infermiera Molly, cerca di mostrare le proprie abilità ad alcuni bambini (l'ipocondriaco Vitamina, L'avventuroso Baccalà, l'afroamericana Robin, la sportiva Alex, la ricca e snob Vanessa ed il burlone Rick), a cui poi racconta una storia collegata a quanto mostrato in precedenza, al fine di convincere i piccoli frequentatori di Camp Candy ad andare d'accordo tra loro, oltre ad educarli al rispetto nei confronti della natura (soprattutto nella 3a serie, che comprende brevi segmenti in live action dello stesso John Candy).

Gli antagonisti principali di John sono Rex DeForest III, il cui scopo è demolire il campeggio per far spazio ad un condominio, ed il suo sottoposto Chester.
