Heckle e Jeckle sono due gazze antropomorfe - erroneamente identificate come corvi all'epoca dagli adattatori italiani - allegre, dispettose e perfettamente identiche create da Paul Terry nel 1946 e da allora presenti in numerosi corti. I loro nomi rappresentano un chiaro riferimento a Lo strano caso del dottor Jekyll e del signor Hyde di Robert Louis Stevenson.

Gli episodi di questa serie venivano trasmessi inizialmente assieme a quelli di Quackula (personaggio creato dagli studi Filmation proprio come riempitivo per questa serie) e, successivamente, assieme a quelli di Supertopo.
 
Esiste anche una precedente serie dedicata a Heckle e Jeckle che è stata realizzata nel 1956, ma è rimasta inedita in Italia.
