Questa serie narra le avventure dell'essere più intelligente del mondo: un cane inventore di nome Peabody. Egli, assieme al suo fido "ragazzo da compagnia" Sherman, vive delle pazze avventure viaggiando attraverso la storia grazie alla sua macchina del tempo.

Questo cartone faceva parte dello show di Rocky e Bullwinkle.

Molti elementi di questa serie - in particolare il personaggio di Sherman - sono stati riutilizzati successivamente per l'ideazione del cartone incentrato su Dexter.

E' stato prodotto anche un film sui personaggi di questa serie: Mr.Peabody e Sherman.
