La Pantera Rosa è un personaggio animato che venne inizialmente creato per la sigla di apertura e chiusura dell'omonimo film degli anni '60 con Peter Sellers, ma che ebbe un successo tale da avere un ruolo da protagonista in una serie di cortometraggi privi di sonoro, accompagnati da un motivo in sottofondo composto da Henry Mancini, tra il 1964 ed il 1980. Le vicende della Pantera Rosa sono connotate da un umorismo surreale e da sfondi minimali, che vedono il protagonista impegnato nelle situazioni più diverse contro un omino dalla forma tondeggiante di colore bianco che ha i baffi, un lungo naso e le gambe corte. Queste venivano trasmesse in uno show che comprendeva anche altre miniserie animate: L'ispettore, Crazy Legs Crane, La formica e il formichiere.
E' inoltre stata prodotta una serie più moderna su questo personaggio: I figli della Pantera Rosa, in cui tutti i personaggi sono in grado di parlare.
Esiste anche un remake di questa serie prodotto negli anni '90, che ha lo stesso titolo.
