Stripes è un gatto grigio che vive in una stazione di polizia con la piccola Katie e suo padre, l'agente Archer. Sia loro che il sergente Parker pensano che Stripes sia solo un micio dormiglione, ma il gattino, a loro insaputa e con l'aiuto dei suoi amici animali (il topo Fluffy, la giraffa Arabella e l'orsetto Hector), diventa un formidabile poliziotto e li aiuta nelle indagini, specie in quelle più difficili.
