In ogni episodio di questa serie, il piccolo Stanley Griff si trova in una situazione che non riesce inizialmente a comprendere. Inizia quindi a parlarne col pesciolino Dennis e successivamente consulta un libro di zoologia per bambini, da cui, vedendo come reagiscono gli animali in una situazione simile a quella in cui lui si trova o come superano una difficoltà simile a quella che lui deve affrontare, trae lo spunto per imparare ogni giorno delle cose nuove.
